Continue your journey through the Malta National Aquarium with a zone inspired by the Grand Harbour and Malta’s historic waterfront.

Surrounded by artwork depicting some of the island’s most recognisable harbour scenery, Valletta Harbour brings together local marine life with a wider variety of species from different habitats around the world.

Look out for Mediterranean fish, sea urchins, anemones and other invertebrates, while displays inspired by Malta’s rocky coastline reveal just how much life can be found in and around its rockpools.

As you explore further, the zone introduces reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, offering a glimpse at the incredible diversity of life that has adapted to environments both in and around the water.

The setting itself is part of the experience, with references to Malta’s maritime heritage throughout the zone. Before continuing your visit, you’ll encounter a recreation of Victoria Gate, the historic entrance connecting Valletta with the Grand Harbour, alongside views inspired by another of Malta’s best-known fishing harbours, Marsaxlokk.
